Evaluation

Evaulation :

My minor project theme was elements of the body which explored the structure of the body. The project has a fine art approach with a simplicity element, in the sense there's nothing glamourous about them however, they can be admired in terms of beauty. They represent a small portion of the body, taken in sections rather than viewing the subject as singular object.

Throughout the project I conducted a series of experiments in the studio, creating lighting to get it exactly right to create the right atmosphere and mood  to emphasis portions of the body. After printing and deciding my inalienable images, I began other experiments such a solarization with some of my final images. The outcome was one of a postive one that really outlined the aspects of te crucial body elements. There are certain aspects I would change about the project which are based on my own ability and they would be to conduct more experiments and spend more time in the studio. I would explore and photograph the struture of the body in more depth using different lighting techniques as formats.

Overall I'm exceedly pleased with the outcome of the images I have a produced and I feel this is a topic I am stronger and more compatible with than others as it engaged my Interest.

Shooting

Taken from my first shoot in which I experimented with the lighting,to create harsh lighting on choosen parts of the body to emphasis a certain structure. The above image shows the lighting taking form the way the lighting highlights the bone struture in the shoulder.

Shooting

While shooting I decided to experiment with my theme portraying body elements I considered trying out a silhouette,as a way of portrayal.Although silhouettes can be pleasing to the eye ,I didn't feel like it portrayed the structure of  body form with the body being drowned out with harsh lighting

dark room experimentation

With the inspiration of man rays solarization with film ,I thought I would heighten my research in terms of conducting an experiment.I took four images of my selected six and developed them in the darkroom as I had done previous ,printing my final images only this time mid developing switch the white light on to expose the developing product to the light. The results are as above,I'm extremely happy with outcome as the process can be unpredictable.

Final images

These are my choosen final six for my
Minor project elements of the body.I believe these photos are crucial to the theme and highlight a small portion of the struture of the human form.I feel the studio lighting helped heighten the intensity and emphasis each chosen structure of choice in each photograph.

I find this image aspiring in terms of how to really challenge ones self rather than shooting the subject alone adding extra factors .In my topic of choice I choose to use harsh lighting to emphasis bone structure and delves.Where as  I think if I had chosen something along the lines of these images using projection it may not have captured the structure as I intended but could of layered over the images creating an intense atmosphere.

introspection

I like the idea of shooting subjects which relate to the choosen theme element of the body, through the reflection of a large mirror.i don't think it would capture in detail the structure but defianltey is an experimentation I'd like to try.To see if they would be compatible ie the subject matter and the choice of how I'd shoot it .

Klaus Kampert

Another image by Klaus Kampert. The image it my opinion is filled with simplicity  and I think the image seems to focus on the structure of the human form, rather than viewing it for all it's beauty.Although beautifully portrayed when viewing the image in depth again I think it's fair to say you focus on the lines in the image ,which guides you around the photograph. For example following the outer line of the human form takes you from left to right of the image .

Kluaus Kampert approach to this particular genre of photography is something of an interesting one .I think the compisition is pleasing to the eye with the use of diagonal lines drawing you into the centre of the photograph.Klaus images have an abstract feel to them simply because there's a sense of unfamiliarity in what your viewing .First look at this image your unsure of what this image consists of until you study in depth you can see a human form taking place.
